         White Eagle is an Ascended Master and Spirit Guide who’s wisdom guides us forth to empowerment, enhancement of our psychic gifts and spiritual awakening.

I have been thinking of the question a lot lately, and how we can make my services more accessible and grow a community of support for those who are ready to grow into all that they can be but don’t know where to start.

How do you know if you are really getting messages from your Guide and you aren’t just making it all up?

Here’s a way: Ask for a sign that you are indeed connecting with your Guide. When you are sitting quietly with him/her in meditation, ask him/her to give you physical proof that he/she is helping you. While you are in meditation you may get an answer like “yes” or you may get an image of something that you will see that will be your sign. One student I know saw a sunflower in her mediation when she asked for a sign. This was strange because it was the middle of winter and even in San Diego there are no sunflowers at that time of year. The next day she was staying in a rented condo and the bathroom was decorated in sunflowers. Now each time she sees that image (a picture on the net, the TV or some one mentions the word sunflower) she is given a wink of reassurance from her guide. So if you get an image go with it- don’t discount it or over analyze it- like thinking what’s that mean? or how’s that gonna happen? Just pay attention and stay open to how it will manifest. It may take up to 3 days to get the manifestation of your sign.

If you ask for a sign and your Guide says “yes” or doesn’t answer and you don’t get an image or a nudge as to what it will be. That means that it will come but they are not telling you how. You may wake up with a song in your head – a certain phrase being repeated over and over, then you turn on the radio and there it is. You may over-hear the phrase in a conversation at the grocery store. The real trick is to pay attention so you are aware of it and can allow it to happen. It’s easy to discount signs as coincidences or chance. Faith and Trust are the most important energies you can bring to the table when you are working with Spirit. If you are not in the energy of faith when working with Spirit you don’t get the miracles that are awaiting you, and you will miss the wonderful gifts and opportunities that they can create for you.

The most difficult part of working with Spirit is understanding how it works and getting into the flow of it. Spirit works through nudges, urges to do something, and inspiration. Our guides are quiet, gentle and unconditional. They don’t want to interfere in our lives unless we ask. When we do ask and have pure gratitude for any small gift that comes our way, we get more, and the trust we start to have in them and gratitude we give is what grows the connection. Your guide may take some time to actually talk to you, because you must truly believe in him/her first (and your ability to connect) before you are going to get more.

Once you feel confident and get your sign ~ and start to trust the process ~ you can get more information, but start small. Ask for something like “what can I expect to happen _______”(tomorrow at my meeting …or… when I have lunch with so and so … or … fill in blank). Make the question about something to take place soon. Your answer may come as a feeling, a knowing or an image. Then just wait and see how it manifests in reference to your question. Once it does manifest then you have your verifiable proof that something you didn’t know came through from your Guide! keep working with this in small ways until you feel confident that you are getting the messages correct. After you are in trust and confidence you can start to dialogue freely with your guide and ask questions that will help you along your life path. But know that your Guide will never demand you do ANYTHING. They are there for guidance and don’t push an agenda. All messages are suggestions and possibilities your choices are entirely up to you. Guides are also entirely without judgment. They have no interest in punishing you or making life difficult for you.

If they are not talking or you feel they are leading you down the wrong path, it may be so you can fully embrace your own power and need to make your own decisions. If you get a message from your guide that is not what your inner knowing is telling you – like to take a vacation in the mountains but you feel that it is not what would be good for you – go with what will feel good for you. That is a lesson in empowerment. Let’s say you go to the mountains, even though you know it’s not the right thing for you, but you want to follow their guidance above your own knowing. You go and have a horrible time then you get angry with your guides for giving you the wrong information, you think they are punishing you or are mad at you. This is a projection. All they are helping you with is trusting yourself. You think to yourself, “I knew it was not right to go to the mountains!” Then you also beat yourself up for not listening to yourself. Instead I offer that you can congratulate yourself for being right and now can make decisions from a fully empowered place. Your guides will now help you with more things because you will be able to use your discernment on what is right for you.

To ensure that you are getting the info only from your Guide who is there as your teacher for your highest good and to help you on your path to your highest potential is very, very simple. Intention is EVERYTHING when working with Spirit. So ask that only the guide who is there to support you on your path be the one to speak with you, help you, inspire you, nudge you and keep every other Spirit away. Then know that it is so.

All you got to do is ask. Really.

I sat on my sleeping bag looking up to them in awe. Then something strange happened. They started to move. Erratically at first and I wasn’t sure if I was truly seeing what I was seeing. I had taken no herbs or anything to provoke visions, so it was pretty strange to me that I would actually be seeing what I was seeing. I wondered if any one else was seeing this, but of course no one was around to confirm it. I took off my glasses and saw them as little blurry lights moving. OK so it wasn’t in my head. They were really moving. Then colors went swooshing in the sky as the stars began to form a circle. Then the circle became a vortex of light, sort of a red-orange color. Then a voice. A booming stadium voice, that said, “We are the ones who built the pyramids…we are the ones who wrote the Bible. You are one of us.”

Ooookaaaay….

It has been difficult for me to write of this, and many more things occurred that I have not yet been ready to write of, but now I see it is time to explore, to ask questions and to understand what exactly this means. I knew in my heart I was talking to my Star Family. The highly evolved beings who are assisting us in our evolution. Assisting us to create life on Earth void of suffering. My first question is: What do the pyramids have in common with the Bible? And why do we have these things? How are they helping us?

One answer I get is an example. I am shown a lost and desolate group of people praying for help on a small desert island. They want off the island to a better land to a more abundant land. Then one day a space ship appears on the island. They do not know it but the space ship can take them anywhere in the universe and even to different realms and dimensions. Not only that but it can help them remember who they are and the amazing powers they have. It holds the memory and wisdom of all ages and realms. They only have to understand how it works, or even to see it for what it is. But they misinterpret what it is. They decide it is a temple and create a religion around it. They only give special persons access to it and the people are cut off from it, but even the special persons misinterpret what it can really do, except for a very, very few who keep it a secret from the others because they worry that it’s power will be misused.

Now is the time for us to learn how to use this space ship and to tap into the codes, the maps, the memory of it, and allow it to be what it is. Now is the time to see that our prayers have been answered all along. We do not have to suffer on a desert island. We can go anywhere and do anything and we’ve had the power since we first asked for it. Let’s figure out how this thing works.

Hi CJ,

I appreciate your question and have debated charging over and over. It is a dilemma. This gift was freely given to me by spirit and I am very grateful. But it was not given without my also spending years of work, time and energy. I have given this gift with no charge, yet I find that those who are given it for free also don’t put the energy behind it to utilize it as it could be. They don’t value what they don’t pay for. Which is a disappointment.

Reiki masters are frequently given the story of how Reiki came to be (if you are unfamiliar Reiki is a healing energy that was discovered in the 1800s). The monk who meditated for 40 days to discover this gift was so enthusiastic about it he went to a nearby village and gave it to all who were in need especially the beggars who couldn’t work because of their ailments. He traveled for many months and came back to the village to find the beggars still begging even though they were healed. This gave him pause and he realized that only those who put energy into receiving this gift would use it and appreciate it. In our world that translates to money. He started charging huge fees for Reiki and Reiki attunements ($10,000). This did exclude a great deal of the population but also only those who saw it as valuable as he did were to receive it.

I value this gift as a miracle. It is worth way, way more than I charge. It changes lives in miraculous ways. What price can you put on that? None is high enough in my opinion. Yet I had to come up with a fee after all. Therefore I decided to charge for my time. An attorney I know told me all he sells is time. He has no product except his expertise. Therefore I used that as my guideline. I charge for my time, the time it takes to do the session. I do not charge for the support e-mails and calls after the session – as an attorney would, lol. That is all part of it.

I hope this answers your question. Spiritual practitioners cannot do their work if they must devote time to day jobs. If I didn’t at least charge for my time I could not do it at all, and the gift would not be given. Those who put their energy into this gift also support me so I may continue to give it.

The snow was falling heavy as we made our way up the mountain to visit the ruins of ancient ancestors of the land. Our tour bus navigated through the snow covering the narrow road and I thought to myself we will never be able to come down off this mountain today. We arrived at the ruins in the early afternoon bundled up from head to toe, each pilgrim carefully stepping out on the snow as it was getting heavier and the sky was darkening. The ancient cliff dwellings were just beyond view through the white flakes and dark clouds. We followed Maria to the overlook nervously laughing and shivering.

We had begun our journey with clear intentions to serve the highest good, to connect with those who had gone before and to bring back the wisdom we learned to share with all. We were kept sequestered throughout our journey – no phones, computers and minimal contact with the outside world. We were assigned a buddy to accompany us at all times and a guardian to help us. We were not allowed to go out on our own through this 10 day journey touring the sacred sites in Arizona which would end with visiting the Hopi Elder Grandfather Martin. We were to be the first non-Hopi people to receive the prophecy held by the Hopi from the prophecy holder himself. But first we had to prepare.

We spiraled back through time on this journey. We connected to the Spirit of the land and the spirits of those who were her caretakers many generations before we came into being. We were taught the integrity of being. We were taught how to honor and make offering as we walked on sacred ground. We were taught that our individual actions effected the whole and to be in impeccable integrity we must consider ourselves as the collective. We were taught to be in the “we” instead of the “I”. We were taught to let our hearts lead us and to release the negative doubts and thoughts of the mind. We had to be of one heart and one mind to be able to receive the gift that awaited us.

We had done preparation ceremonies months before we embarked on our journey and when the plane touched down in Phoenix I could feel the land welcoming me. I felt it was a sign I was ready to begin the pilgrimage. But we all had much more to do to prepare for the sacred gifts that awaited. Much more to do to leave the individual self behind and the conditioning of our upbringing as separate from others. The conditioning that taught us things have no soul. The conditioning that taught us we are not of the Earth. Each step on our journey was guided by spirit as a lesson to release the illusion of separation and to awaken to our true state of wholeness with deep honor, respect and reverence for all life- past, present and future.

Maria Yraceburu, Quero Apache Holy One, and prophecy keeper herself, had a dream that began this pilgrimage. A vision in which pilgrims make their way to meet with Grandfather Martin and the prophecies would be given to these pilgrims to share with the world. It was foretold to the elders that the time would come when non-Hopi would be allowed to sit at the famous Prophecy Rock and learn from the Holy One of the Hopi Nation the wisdom that it held. When she had this dream she consulted with the elders of the native traditions and Grandfather Martin to see if it was indeed time to fulfill what had been foretold. She also waited for signs. When all the signs and permissions were given she put the call out to the world to see who would respond to come on this journey. Only 17 of us came. Yet to get 17 hearts in harmony took a great deal of ceremonial orchestration on behalf of spirit and human. Maria is the only person alive I know who can create unity among diverse individuals and she does it with superb love and impeccable integrity.

Standing at the overlook we could barely see the cliff dwellings of the ancestors across the chasm through the heavy snow and low clouds. Maria yelled out to our fellow pilgrim “Talia, let the ancestors know we are here!” Talia began to sing. Her clear tones lifting up through the snow and clouds which immediately parted to open a gateway to heaven. The sun shone in gratitude. The snow stopped to honor the melody. We were struck in awe of the moment. Yes, the ancestors knew were were there and were grateful.

Many more miracles, blessings and gifts were part of that journey. We stepped in and out of time. We felt a profound healing of our hearts. We found connection to all that is. We saw the power we carry. If any one of us were not in alignment with this sacred assignment, it would not have been possible to experience the abundant miracles and gifts. We had to follow a lot of rules, we had to be in continual integrity and we had to hold every aspect of ourselves, each other, and all places with honor, respect and reverence.

Pilgrimages to sacred sites create an awakening to multidimensional realities. Sacred sites connect us to the past and the future in the now. There we commune with the holy ones who came before us, we become inspired to accept our highest potential destiny and we upgrade our DNA to align with what is truly possible. In sacred sites we get a glimpse of our infinite be-ing-ness.

When doing ceremony in sacred sites we are effecting the fabric of the universe, changing this reality to align with the spiritual realm. We are actively bringing Heaven to Earth. This is a deeply profound calling and not for the faint of heart. It takes clear intention, impeccable integrity, and an open heart-ed acceptance of all beings. Ceremony is the heavy lifting work of the spiritual seekers, leaders, teachers and healers. It takes a strong spiritual foundation to co-create the miraculous transformation possible with ceremony, sacred sites, and pilgrimages.

Many pilgrimages take place to sacred sites around the world, and to truly be present to the gifts and miracles that are the potential of each one, we must be sure we are ready. We must be sure we align with the Spirit world and know our intentions one with Spirit. If we should go unprepared or out of alignment with the greater good, perhaps just seeking adventure or boosting our egos, we will find the experience may have a detrimental effect on our lives and well being. In Heaven ego, lack and fear do not exist, so we must be able to release their power over us to be in acceptance of what is possible and present to the gifts of the journey.

To prepare for a visit to a sacred site, a ceremony or a pilgrimage all that is needed is the intention to serve the greatest good for yourself and humanity. I also suggest that you ask your angels for a sign from them that it will in fact serve the greater good to attend the event. Ask to know for sure that it is in right alignment that you go by showing you an unmistakeable sign that you do so. Signs can take many forms – be open to anything that may come. Once you have asked for your sign and received it – it is of utmost importance that you follow through. If you are having difficulty making arrangements, getting the funds or finding other obstacles in your way to go – ask spirit to make it easy and help you to get there. They are forever at your service and will create synchronicities, and even miracles to get you there.

Although my time with Grandfather Martin happened years ago, it is still fresh in my heart. The connections we made with our fellow pilgrims have endured. I have been on many pilgrimages since then. They, each and every one of them has created an awakening into a new reality that wasn’t there before. They offered abundant miracles, blessings and gifts.

And now Spirit has come to me to create a pilgrimage to facilitate the healing of the land of my ancestors and the ancestors of all who live in the Americas. The past violence and tragedy are to be released. We are to become whole again. I have asked for the signs from the angels, received the blessings of the elders and now it is time. We shall have the profound guidance Maria Yraceburu to lead the ceremonies, creating power vortexes up the California coast. We will be in ceremony with the descendents of those who were the victims and those who were the oppressors. Coming together for all to heal the separation of humanity. In a world of judgment, suffering, condemnation, and oppression the worn pages passed around through many hands were the light of God reaching into their hearts speaking the language of love. Forgiveness overcame sin, law became love, separateness became unity.

What has happened to these ancient mystical writings? How can we find them to see how they may heal our hearts? Are we ready to read the truth of them? Are we ready to hear with our hearts and leave the intellectual arguments behind? Are we truly ready to find the truth they awaken within ourselves and not be told the truth from an institution? Can we be so radical as to not follow the old rules and concepts of God but instead find the God within? Are we ready to enter the portal of love, unity and forgiveness?

Indigenous prophecy keepers, new age mystics, and even some religious leaders recognize this time we are living in as a time of radical change for humanity. We are standing in the doorway of our own evolution, and we are, each of us individually, making the choice to go through or not. The single step through the doorway of evolution is the bravest step we can take. It is not for the faint of heart; only the most courageous can walk through. To make this step we must no longer be ruled by – or fear – the judgment, condemnation or the reactions of others. We must know the truth of our hearts and follow it even if our friends and family say it’s a bad idea. We must see unity consciousness and no longer be seduced by the illusion of separation. We must see ourselves through the divine vision of infinite potential and no longer as powerless beings. We must be made whole. This is a tall order even for the most awakened of beings.

Yet, it has been done before.

As we stand in the portal of evolution and start to dump all our old baggage of what our parents did to us, our schools programmed into us and our religious institutions took from us we feel lighter and more ready to go through. We feel that our old concepts of ourselves have been released and we are ready to accept the truth of our divine birthright. But there is still a slight hesitation, still something yet to be made whole. It is the past. Our individual past and humanity’s past. How can we be made whole if we cannot only make peace with our past but embrace and celebrate it. Where we have been is part of who we are. It is imprinted in our DNA, our consciousness, and our souls. Our familial dysfunction also holds ancestral wisdom. Our government’s corruption also holds our vision of unity. Our religious dogma also holds divine truth. To see divinity’s expression in even the lowest point in our history brings it into the light, makes us whole, and we can collectively walk through the portal to our evolution and our divinity.

My personal journey to the portal of divinity has brought me to that place of making peace with the past – my ancestry, my concept of religion, and our history of war. I have begun to look deeper to see the thread of divine love running throughout our past of suffering. Following this thread has awakened me to a new perception of our reality and has become a great gift to open again and again rediscovering the beauty of who we really are.

I am given the vision of the ancient writing being shared by scattered communities in ancient times, which becomes like a thread of divinity connecting the separated to the heart of God and each other. They are no different from us, searching for truth in a world of illusion. They pass among them a contraband document. They are the most courageous seekers, the ones connected to the mystical traditions, not dogmatic regimen. They pass it on and keep it sacred for the many generations to follow to find their own truth in it. Not for it to be corrupted by religious authority. I offer to you to look to the ancient wisdom with new eyes, outside of religious authority. Be radical and find that you’ve been holding what you’ve been seeking all along.

For me reading the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelation without the interpretation of religious authority has been an awakening experience. It has been a long journey to be able to release the dogmatic thought that surrounds their wisdom and truly see them with fresh eyes. To see them as though they had been handed to me in a secret temple, to see them as the radical road-map to the heart of God that they are – what a challenge for me. What an incredible gift I have found.

I offer to you to seek out the ancient writings of the past that call your heart, release the negative energy around them and see the divinity that runs through them. Begin the journey of making peace with the past thus activating our evolution and stepping through the portal to the divine and creating the World of Peace.

From the Holocaust to the Burning Times and back to Lemuria

 We live in changing times, we were born into these changing times to create the world we desire – consciously. We are now becoming fully aware how every thought, word and action creates the world we live in. Carrying forward pain from the past, holding on to the memories of injustice, consciously or unconsciously, that have caused suffering creates a future of pain and healing cannot be complete where wounds are still active. 

Yet we must remember. We cannot be who we are without the stories of where we have been. Our story-tellers are the carriers of wisdom from the ages; whether it is your grandmother talking of her childhood, your school teacher explaining history or your friend relaying their pain filled memories. There is connection of hearts created through the stories of others. We find where we are linked, share common experience and see ourselves in a new light. 

In July of 2009 on a pilgrimage to New Mexico, we began our journey into the past, we felt into painful memories and astonished ourselves at the healing that took place. We were moved in compassion for humanity, our families, and mostly of all for those who caused us pain. Our stories of how this experience moved us are related below. 

We continue the journey through the coastline of California, a pivotal place in the consciousness of humanity. California is the link between Lemuria and the mainland, between paradise and paradise lost, between our future and our past. Many of us on the spiritual path are concerned with healing the Earth, and we do so through prayer, meditation, and energy work, yet more is needed to clear the layers of dishonor, distrust, fear, manipulation, torture and genocide. Ceremonial work is what is needed. Ceremony is the heavy-lifting work of healers. Ceremony changes and ignites the grid, the Earth, and our collective consciousness to wholeness. We are calling forth the healers and those who wish to help. We are calling forth those who are ready to take on a vision larger than themselves, to create a future brighter than they can imagine. Can you imagine a future where we rejoice in our collective history instead of be ashamed of it?

OUR STORIES

Sharing Hearts, Healing Spirits, from Lynda Yraceburu

I did not know my true roots growing up. The history of my ancestors was kept from me for many years; maybe for my own protection, maybe my father was never told for his protection. I am not sure of the exact reason why. I know I all ways had an empty feeling in my heart; one of missing my family or who I was.

For the most part I was spared racial judgment and reticule. The most harassment I received was when my family moved to a new neighborhood, as my father was in the military. It seemed like we moved a lot. So, I had my fair share of being the new kid on the block, and proving myself. I received more teasing from my older brothers, which as far as I knew was regular family growing pains.

It was not until many years later when I found out my true lineage, Hungarian Gypsy, that I started understanding what bigotry and genetic judgment was about. I read and dreamt about the atrocities put on my people and what they went through. How they were treated at the concentration camp Auschwitz; as well as, how they were not welcomed in most of Europe. How they were condemned to a life on the road with no home land to call their own.

I felt the anger and out rage grow in my cellular knowing as I understood more and more what my people went through. I had all most no understanding how or why people could or would treat others like this. But never the less, I felt the anger in my heart grow to all those that wronged my people. Many, many of whom were innocent; the young children, the woman and the men that had a different skin color, or different beliefs and different tradition. Who are these perpetrators to take away one’s uniqueness, individuality and free will? How could I forgive those that condemned my people? My heart grow callus to them and to anyone that carried the same beliefs of bigotry and racial judgment.

Then last year, while on a pilgrimage in the south west with a group called Earth Wisdom, the purpose and intent was to do ceremony in several of the sacred sites in northern New Mexico, to bring water back to the land. One of the sites we went to was the sacred and healing waters of Chimayo, which took place at the Mission, where the river ran through and was one of the oldest and first Missions established.

We did many ceremonies that day, one of them I had the honor and privilege to do with Janet Lightstone, a ceremony of forgiveness of the oppressor of the ancestors that had wronged, tortured or killed the oppressed. So that those that had done so wrong could be forgiven, and their Spirits set free. And the family lines of the future could release the genetic guilt that they carry in there hearts today.

I was amazed at the amount of relief and release I felt in my heart when I forgave those that had wronged my people, for what ever their reason was. It was no longer important to know what there reason was. Just to find compassion in my heart for them. As I looked around at the other participants I noticed tears falling over many of the faces. I did not know if their ancestors were of the oppressed or the oppressors. I just knew they all looked as if they found compassion in there heart to forgive. Not to condone but to find the strength to move on, free of the genetic guilt or victimization that had been left by their ancestors.

I realized at that point how much work had been done to free the spirits that were unjustly tortured and killed. But had no clue were the real work needed to be done, that of forgiveness over past ills. We did great work that day, but this was only the tip of the iceberg.

The more of us that can come together to forgive the past, the more compassion  and love we can find in our hearts today. The healthier our future becomes for future generations.

The Burning Times,  from Janet Elk

I was watching a movie a few months ago, about the witch burning period of history, specifically during the Spanish inquisition, throughout Europe. I learned that over 5 million women were killed during that time, in that region, thanks to another religious/political/fear-based misuse of power, and to specifically return the balance of power to men (many men had died in the previous wars and through the plague, so there was a “surplus” of women, that were now gaining wealth, and did not have husbands to control them). This isn’t the first time I’ve responded to a witch-burning scenario, so this must be somewhere in my lineage/past lives, so this is what feels personal to me, and yet it’s the same, same thing, no matter where it played out and by whom.

Ultimately, as we all remember that we are One, we can no longer deny that what happens to one of us happens to all of us, and we most likely have played out each role in this drama from all sides, in every timeline in history. For each hurt or wound that is forgiven NOW, we all heal incrementally.  Since we are the living earth, it makes perfect sense to me that our earth mother heals also when we forgive.

Thank you for your vision of healing, through the Missions of California, which will affect all souls, as we are all part of this process whether we feel it or not, participate in the healing or not. I’m grateful for those that will join you on this trip and be the pilgrims and facilitators for us all.

I find forgiveness a daily necessity given the situation I’m dealing with.  We give ourselves so much by allowing the energetic freedom of true regard for our own feelings, no matter how negative or difficult, which then allows them to be transmuted into peace and balance as we continually traverse the astonishing landscape of this paradoxical life we’re apart of.

A Pilgrimage of the Heart, from Jennifer Masters

 On my personal spiritual journey I have always been looking for ways to connect with the land where I live, and the spirits that dwell here, in the desert Southwest. Many neo-pagan paths are grounded in the seasons and natural aspects of Northern Europe, working with spirits from those lands, a long way away from here.

And so I read something about the “Places of Vision” pilgrimage to sacred sites near Santa Fe, New Mexico with my Apache teacher Maria Yraceburu and community, and I no longer remember what I read, but it was one of those moments when I knew I had to go! 

I don’t know why the mixture of indigenous spiritual beliefs and Catholicism among the modern-day pueblo peoples was strange to me. The Virgin Mary has greater presence than Jesus Christ because of her association with Mother Earth. We visited a couple of churches, including El Santuario de Chimayo, a chapel built on ground that has been sacred for thousands of years. Many have literally been healed with the earth beneath the chapel, and there’s a hole in the sacristy floor behind the altar where one may take some of this dirt. It was also the first church founded in the Americas that served to convert the native peoples to Christianity. Normally I think of religious iconography from any path as beautiful, and I was surprised at the disdain I felt as I looked around. Perhaps for the atrocities committed against the indigenous, perhaps because of my own past of not feeling at home in Christianity, although I thought all those feelings were well behind me. I fully support the idea of blending spiritual paths, I walk a blended spiritual path (hence my website domain name “Eclectic Tradition”), so this really caught me off guard—another layer of the onion exposed, so to speak. Perhaps my past was behind me, yet as a representative of the greater community I was tapping into hurt and anger much larger than myself—for the opportunity to heal it?

A fellow pilgrim, Janet Lightstone, was called by Spirit to do ceremony on this day to heal this past, not just healing for a people that had never known disease, enslavement, or war, but healing for those that inflicted the pain—they all suffered. This pilgrim is a descendant of the Ortega family and told us her story of having traveled to Mission San Juan Capistrano, where she connected with the spirit of a Friar who was in pain—from the atrocities he both committed and sanctioned—and was in need of healing. She picked a spot by the river near the chapel for the ceremony. I was reminded that every walk of life has experienced persecution at some time or another in history. Who has not been the bully, the bullied or the bystander? When the ceremony concluded, any that still harbored sadness was instructed to pick up a nearby stone, breathe the last of our sadness into the stone, and throw it in the river. All of us, now in tears, did just that.

Those of us that went on this pilgrimage, were meant to go and participate in this, on behalf of our community, on behalf of the world. The steps we traced, from one sacred site to the next, followed along the tracks of our ancestors. The ceremonies we enacted were beautiful in their simplicity, and reminded us we are all children of Earth, we are One with All Our Relations.

So much about this pilgrimage hit me on a deep level and resonated in my soul, truth unfolded before me on a pilgrimage of the heart, and there is just no intellectualizing it or analyzing it. My heart understood with perfect clarity what we were there to do, why we were there, and why it was so important. And yet my brain still cannot grasp any of it! The experience was … hmmm … hard to sum up. But I feel more at home on Earth, in this life.

A Vision of Peace into the Future, from Maria Yraceburu 

I believe the Mission Pilgrimage Trip: Sharing Hearts and Healing Spirit is important to what is currently happening in the world.  I know that the desecration that took place between the missionaries and the Indians is an oozing wound in the California coastline that needs to be healed to help stabilize the shifting magnetic grid.  In addition, I know from what happened at Chimayo during our Places of Vision pilgrimage and after with Aunt Betty’s story that many carry the woundedness of our ancestors, and these things need to be put to rest for us to be able to carry the vision of peace into the future.  I know that the reception the Ohlone Indians are planning for us in Fremont will help many that carry the history of the oppressor to release.  I know the stories that my Chumash sister Julie will share, will bring light and love into everyone and the seam along the coast will be closed and healed easing the transition of mother.

This is what I know, this is what I believe.  This is why I am committed to being there.

 We are being called upon by the spirits of those who have come before and by the very spirit of the land herself.

 Our lineage is a gift from the ages. Our ancestry is encoded in our DNA. Lineage plays a big part in the lives of our indigenous prophecy keepers. But what of the modern westernized person in suburbia – who has no idea of their lineage, or what their ancestors have coded in their DNA? For those whose ancestry has been lost in the melting pot of the United States, where every one is a little bit of this and little bit of that, how can they link into their ancestry and know what wisdom is encoded in their biology? The average American born person doesn’t know the names of their great-great grandparents.

We are shifting into a new world, the energy of the Earth is rapidly changing to cleanse the pain of the past to birth a new World of Peace. All the sages of the past worldwide have prophesized this time, each culture has it’s version of a time when the world will be in harmony. We are shifting to that world now, even as the world seems to be getting more polarized, be aware this is the last dying breath of duality.

Yet what of our ancestors, those who were a link in the chain of events who brought us here, how will our shift in consciousness to peace affect those who have gone before?

Will we view history differently? Will their gifts to us be left behind as we raise our awareness from ‘me’ to ‘we’? Can we truly leave the gifts of the past behind as we evolve the higher consciousness? Or, are we called upon not only to heal ourselves, our DNA and our split psyches, but also our ancestors, so that all the generations, past and future may be blessed and raise consciousness with us in this coming time of peace?

Four years ago, at the beginning of a year long rites of passage series lead by Maria Yraceburu, she stated that during the year we would discover more of who we were and many people will uncover their ancestry. I dismissed this. My DNA is a melting pot of European genetics that has been lost by many generations in the U.S. Now I know better than to dismiss the prophecy of a prophecy keeper. During that year my sister began to trace our family’s ancestry. She discovered many amazing things by following the line of Spanish settlers in California carried by my father’s mother. We found, among many other notable settlers of Alta California, Don Jose Francisco de Ortega. He was the scout for the first land expedition up the coast of California, he is believed to have been the first European to lay eyes on San Francisco bay, he was the father of the first European child born in California and he helped to found the chain of Californian missions, working closely with Father Serra. Father Serra, founder of the California Missions, stated in letters that he considered Ortega his esteemed brother.

Soon after we had discovered this, my son started the 4^th Grade. In California all 4^th Graders learn about the missions. The project he chose involved going to a mission and doing a report on it. He chose to go to Mission San Juan Capistrano which is located at the end of Ortega Highway, the highway named for his ancestor. While we were there I felt an unease and eeriness. I didn’t want to spend too much time there. There was the main church in ruins from an earthquake in 1812, there was a graveyard the size of a mini-mart parking lot that had over 2,000 bodies of Native Americans buried in it, and there was an unsettled sense of sorrow. Then my left heel started to bother me, I was limping and I just wanted to leave.

It felt strange to me to have this ancestor that was a heroic figure in history, who also played a big part in the loss of almost an entire race. When the Spanish came to Alta (upper) California, there was an estimated population of over 300,000 Native Americans. By the time California became part of the U.S., about 70 years later, there were an estimated 16,000 Native Americans left.

I felt weariness and guilt. I had become a student of Native American ways, my spirit connected to the wisdom of the elders and their traditions became my traditions. But what of my ancestry? How do I reconcile this, or how does any one? Most people of my community who are involved in learning the Earth traditions are also sons and daughters of the conquerors. Their ancestors are the Western Europeans who annihilated the races of this land to have freedom. Were they heroic or bloodthirsty? Are they to be honored or disavowed? What part of them is brought into being by our own lives? What of this has been passed down through our cellular memory? What are we to do about it?

There is a Native American prophecy that states: “Our ancestors will be born in the children of our enemies.” In other words, some who were previously born as Native Americans will be reincarnated into the lineage of the conquerors.

Well, here we are. Our spirits are called to the Native American ways, yet our bodies carry the guilt of our ancestry. How can we reconcile this? Is our body to be the enemy of our spirit and creating a split in consciousness that is holding us back from embracing the world of peace we have been creating?

Our coming has been foretold for generations – we are the Rainbow Tribe. We are the people born of all races who are of one spirit. Yet without creating peace within our own psyche and DNA, our prophecy lingers waiting to be fulfilled. It is a dormant potential that each one of us is personally responsible to awaken.

Following the visit to the Mission, I told Maria of my experience and that I was inspired to do healing ceremonies at the missions. She said she would dream on it.

In the meantime, the pain in my heel became more and more intense, and for months I tried everything, until I finally called a gifted psychic healer for help. She told me that a spirit had attached itself to my heel at the Mission and would leave once it gave me its message. With a small circle of spiritual women in sacred space, I called upon the spirit to give me its message. To my surprise it was not a Native American spirit that was trapped in the sorrow of the land, but a spirit who identified himself as a friar consumed by grief and guilt over the atrocities that had taken place at the Mission. He told us of the mass death of Native children to cover up crimes committed by the Padres. His sorrow came through in deep sobs. The scene was horrifying. His heart was broken and his soul could not rest. Even now with the memory of this I weep. We called upon the angels to release his spirit, and I felt it my duty to fulfill my vision of healing ceremonies for the Missions, for California and for all of us who carry the lineage of the conquerors but have the spirits of the Natives within.

After dreaming on it, Maria let me know that she would accompany me on my journey and create a pilgrimage to the California Missions so that we all may heal our psyches our hearts, and our spirits, and go forward to into the World of Peace cleared of the guilt of our ancestors. We will heal our shame and release our blame. The duality of us verses them will become an oneness of shared experience, ancestry and wholeness to usher in this time for all humanity.

I am now preparing for this miraculous journey. The pilgrimage is “Sharing Hearts, Healing Spirit, California Missions Pilgrimage” through Yraceburu EarthWisdom. We are to go to 6 missions in 6 days, doing ceremony with the local tribes, to honor each other to create peace and find the cleansing gift of forgiveness for each and every one of us. We are calling for 24 pilgrims to join us on this sacred journey. We gather in Old Town San Diego “The Birthplace of California” on August 10, 2010 then travel up the coast to the missions in an air-conditioned tour bus and staying in hotels in a fully supported tour, returning to San Diego on August 15, 2010. The pilgrims will be well cared for, but this pilgrimage is not for every one. It will be deeply intense emotionally, spiritually and physically. On a side note: My heel has no more pain since that time of release, and I have learned that Father Serra had a problem with his left heel that made him limp, which started the day he came to California and endured for the entire time he lived in California until his death.

Divine Love Through Forgiveness

Forgiveness is the cleansing balm of the soul and cannot only heal the past, but change it.

The spiritual bookstore I do readings at has a collection of stones each with a word. The words on the stones include ‘abundance’, ‘love’, ‘happiness’, ‘miracles’, and ‘forgiveness’ among others. The clerk told me that the one that never sells is ‘forgiveness.’ I thought about this a lot. As spiritual seekers and those who are bringing in the New Earth, why do we not embrace forgiveness?

I think forgiveness is a hard word, because in it is the supposition that we are holding a grudge. Spiritual people who strive to live in unconditional love suppose they do not need to feel forgiveness. When you feel unconditional love what is there to forgive? I know I thought that way too.

But the spirit of the California Missions friar who came to me to ask for help was seeking to tell his story and receive forgiveness. He cannot be released to continue his soul’s journey until he is forgiven. 

Through the winding road I’m following to fulfill the vision of healing ceremonies at the California Missions, I have learned a great deal about forgiveness. The missions were established by the Catholic Church at the request of the Spanish crown to claim Alta (upper) California for Spain. In establishing the missions the Spanish had to convert the Native Americans to Catholicism and make them Spanish citizens. Hundreds of thousands of Native Americans lost their lives, through disease, torture, corporal punishment, and war. Yet, it was not the wounded souls of the natives who are crying out from the land for healing. Instead it is those who created the wounds, those who caused the deaths and misery of an entire race that need the healing of forgiveness. This taught me that the act, energy and feeling of forgiveness in and of itself is healing. Perhaps it is the best healing of all.

I do readings and spiritual healings for those who have been wounded by their parents during childhood and who still carry the dysfunction that their wounds created. The message I get to give to those in pain is to thank their parents and honor them. I stay away from the forgiveness word, but that is what forgiveness is, gratitude and honoring. There is tremendous power in it. If you are truly able to thank and honor those who you feel harmed you, you can release all the pain of the past and even see it completely differently. You are able to forgive them. In forgiving them you also release them and heal their past as well. That is the true power of forgiveness. Forgiveness is an immense healing gift that can change everything.

The great master Jesus said “If you forgive the sins of anyone they are forgiven; if you withhold forgiveness from anyone it is withheld.” John 20:23 ESV.

Does this mean that we, each and every one of us hold the power to release all others from the sins, trespasses, and debts of the past? Does this mean that it is up to us to forgive our forbearers, our ancestors, and all our relations? How can we hold power over something that occurred almost 300 years ago?

When I ask Spirit this question I am shown the web of life running through and around the Earth. In this vision all time is now. Everything that has occurred or will occur is active now. All that we do, think, and feel now affects the Earth of all time. Every breath, every thought, every action, changes this web’s design, and when the web’s design is changed it is changed throughout all time. The past and future are at once. What we do now changes it all.

 Then Spirit tells me that the power of forgiveness is the doorway to unconditional love or Divine Love. We can truly live in Divine Love when we practice forgiveness. Without forgiveness we are denying the past has anything to do with us, and blocking the true healing needed to create peace on Earth.

Then I am shown ceremony. Ceremony is shown to me as a sacred act to affect the web in a way to open the door to the World of Peace for all. A ceremony of honoring. A ceremony of gratitude. A ceremony of forgiveness. A ceremony in which those who we blame for creating the loss, the pain, and the destruction of our world are honored and forgiven.

As I reflect on these visions and messages I see that it is a tremendous task. Forgiveness is truly Divine. Not many humans I know of can truly forgive those who have created horrific acts of violence. Can we forgive the heinous acts of war? Can we forgive the pollution of the planet? Can we forgive child molesters, rapists, and murderers?  Can we forgive the Nazi’s, can we forgive Hitler, and can we forgive the terrorists who brought down the twin towers?

 We must.

To enter the World of Peace we must forgive those who caused devastating pain and destruction. As healers our task has been focused on healing the wounded. But for healing to be final and complete we must forgive the wounders, otherwise we are only healing half of the equation. When we heal both sides through the energy of forgiveness we find the Divine Love we seek.

This monumental task of forgiveness on a global scale starts within, then is manifested through ceremony, which radiates throughout time and space. Our Missions Pilgrimage is opening the doorway to the World of Peace through the energy of forgiveness. It is focused on only one part of the Earth, yet it will radiate throughout space and time to create a domino effect opening the gift of Divine Love throughout history.

I see a vision of a Mother Mary statue with tears of compassion streaming down from her eyes and am told “the tears of the saints are not for the suffering, but for those who have caused the suffering.”
